There were 1,287 white students enrolled in Preble Shawnee Local Schools in the 2022-23 school year, an increase from the 1,256 white students in the previous school year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Data showed that Preble Shawnee Local Schools welcomed 1,331 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students made up 96.7% of the student body, making them the most represented ethnicity in the district.

Preble Shawnee Local Schools roughly covers three schools within Preble County and has its main office in Camden.

Among the three schools in Preble Shawnee Local Schools, Preble Shawnee Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 500 students.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. This marks an improvement for the state, especially compared to 2016, when the ratio reached its decade-high at 16.1 students per teacher.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
