State Representative Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) has announced the allocation of $744,464.51 in state funding to United Local Schools. This funding comes as part of the Ohio Career Technical Education Equipment Grant.
“I’m very happy for our students at United Local Schools and the increased learning opportunities available to them as a result of this funding,” said Rep. McNally. “Our kids deserve public money in public schools and the best equipment we have to offer so they can be exposed to and prepared for the world.”
The grant program is designed to expand Career-Technical Education (CTE) programs across Ohio schools, aiming to better prepare students for careers after graduation. It prioritizes careers on Ohio’s Top Jobs List and credentialing from the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation Innovative Workforce Incentive Program list. The funds will help establish or enhance CTE programs and equipment statewide.
This announcement marks the second round of funding, including 34 schools, following a previous announcement in March that awarded $67.7 million to 56 schools. In Ohio’s 59th district, earlier recipients included West Branch Local Schools with $832,470.43 and Columbiana County with $1,456,453. The grant program is part of the 2024-2025 state operating budget.
