FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024.
In our continuous effort to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Dekalb County in Illinois. The request, sent on September 26, 2024, seeks a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024 till the date of the request.
The records requested include specific fields such as the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount paid. We believe that access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
As a media organization committed to disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. We will continue to keep you updated on this matter as we await a response from Dekalb County.
