Okay, you can keep dumping  your normal junk (recycling always when we can and saving yard debris for our spring drop off to spare our landfills), but your electronic junk? Don’t dump it. Bring it here! The Summit e-Waste electronics bin located at the southeast corner of the City Hall parking lot has been a huge success. We see folks making deposits on a regular basis and we just received the report for 2023 – one thousand two hundred fifty-five pounds of electronics successfully received and recycled!

The list of acceptable items is summarized by “anything you can plug in,” but specifically you can deposit computers, modems, routers, servers, DVD players, VCRs, game consoles, stereos, cell phones, chargers, printers, cables, wires, power adapters, and computer monitors all as long as they fit withing the 22” wide x 12” tall opening. We are blessed to live in a community that cares about the environment, as evidenced by the response whenever an opportunity arises to do just that. So here’s a tip of the ecological cap to all who have used the e-waste bin and an invitation to join in for all who haven’t as of yet. Don’t dump the electronic junk, recycle it!
