2023 Residential Refuse Collection Rate Changes

On November 1, 2022, the Piqua City Commission adopted Ordinance # O-9-22 which will modify the rate schedule for Residential Refuse Collection. The new rate schedule will be based on the amount of refuse generated at each residential unit. The following rate chart will be effective as of January 1, 2023:

SANITATION RESIDENTIAL RATES                         2023 MONTHLY RATE

Small Quantity Generator: 1-32 Gallon Trash Cart           $20.14

Standard Quantity Generator: 1-96 Gallon Trash Cart       $22.38

Large Quantity Generator: 2-96 Gallon Trash Carts           $24.62

Additional Trash Cart                                                           $12.00

Recycling                                                                          Included

If your property was issued two 96-gallon Trash Carts, your utility account will reflect the Large Quantity Generator rate beginning in January 2023.

If you no longer need the second 96-gallon Trash Cart, please fill out the cart request form via SmartHub to have the cart picked up. Once the cart is returned, then the utility account will reflect the change in the rate. If you want to keep the second 96-gallon Trash Cart, then you do not need to do anything at this time.

For any questions regarding your carts or service, then please contact us on SmartHub. A staff member will get back to you to answer your questions.
